Welcome to the Christine March School of Dance family! Established in 1966 by my mother, Christine Flowers, our school has 58 years of experience in dance education. I’m Caroline Lane, and I’ve been trained in all major dance disciplines by my mother, performing both amateur and professionally. With a DBS/Paediatric first aid and a chaperone licence, your child’s safety and development are our top priorities.

Classes at Christine March School of Dance

Tiny Toes – Dance Basics: This class is for 1-3-year-olds and focuses on basic ballet, balance, confidence, and basic dance steps. Parents can enjoy dancing with their child in this beautiful class.

Mini Movers: Designed for ages 3-5, this class includes stretching, bridges, backward rolls, handstands, and more. Children will learn backbends and cartwheels, increasing difficulty according to the class’s ability.

Ballet: Students will learn ballet within the Association of American Dance syllabi, including barre work, floor work, ballet terms, and correct technique.

Acrobatics: Students will learn various tumbling skills, from basics like backbends, partner tricks, strength, flexibility and rolls to harder skills like handsprings and Ariels.

Jazz: This class includes warm-ups, stretching, and exercises focusing on body placement, muscle usage, flexibility, isolations, turns, kicks, leaps, and jumps.

Ballet dancers

Pointe: Offered to advanced students ages 13 and up, this class requires strong feet and ankles. Students wear specially made shoes to stand on their toes.

Tap: Students will learn to project different rhythms through the clicking taps on their shoes’ heels and toes.

Modern Stage: This style of dance is popular in musical theatre, requiring dancers to excel in singing, dancing, and acting.

Lyrical Dance: Choreographed to emotionally charged music, this style allows dancers to express a range of strong emotions through their movements.

Drama: this class is designed for aspiring young actors looking to develop their acting technique and improve their performance.
Singing: We offer both 1-2-1 singing classes and group coaching for those wishing to sing along with other students in harmony.

Dress Code and Conduct Guidelines

We have a strict dress code to maintain discipline and ensure a serious approach to learning. Please be on time for classes, and no gum is allowed. Observers are not permitted in the classroom during class, but end-of-class observations are scheduled monthly. Missed classes can be made up in another class of similar age and ability level.
